Come join us for our spring meeting in the Horticulture Building at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids.
New Location: Room 141, Kirkwood Hort Building (see attached map)
6:00 - 6:30 PM - Social time and sign in
6:30 - Short presentation by Eric Weiler from the Kirkwood Foundation on what's new at Kirkwood
6:45 - Guest Speaker Linn County Master Gardener Lorrie Bailey will present "Everything Coleus"
Coleus is not just your grandmother’s plant anymore - Its a colorful companion plant for our hostas. Lorrie will share ideas about design, containers, cultivars, propagation, care and why every garden shouldn’t be without coleus. Lorrie's other Master Gardener presentations have included "Bringing Color to the Shade Garden", "Everything Whimsical", and also one on photography. Her own garden includes hostas, daylilies, and pieces of whimsical pottery, so we should have a fun, colorful and enjoyable presentation.
We'll take a short break after our speaker and have our business meeting around 8:00, cleanup and be finished by 9:00 p.m.
Note: for those of you who toured the Kirkwood Greenhouse after our spring breakfast last year, this is the same building.
